Politicians and their associates shouldn't be getting knighted full stop.

Got no problem with a politician who has done a good job representing their constituents for a long period getting an award. However the fact is Crosby doesn't actually deserve a 'national' award, since he's going the square root of off all for 'the nation'. And he's not even a politician. He did a job for the Tory party. For about 18 months. He was very well paid for doing it. Quite a lot of people think what he did while doing it was pretty distasteful. if the Tory pair want to give him something in gratitude fair enough but that thing should not be 'a knighthood', because it's quite likely the majority of the population who knows who he is would happily pack his suitcase and give him a ticket back to Australia.

I mean, we all know the honours system is pretty disreputable in fact - it's riddled with corruption, cronyism and favouritism. But most PM's are smart enough not to do anything SO blatant as this.
