Google agrees to pay HMRC £130m in back taxes | Technology | The Guardian http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2 ... back-taxesWhat a fcuking joke. Where's the rest? Sheer lies. It's not a substantial result at all, it's not remotely what they owe or probably even will owe, and HMRC is not remotely impartial as witnessed by multiple sweetheart deals like this one to the tune of billions lost to the taxpayer.

I believe the only possible reaction to that is 'LOL'.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-35390692Yeah, it's Labour's fault! How long have you been chancellor? Why did it take a 6 year investigation exactly? What utter BS. And can we replace HMRC with something effective and genuinely independent? As opposed to an organisation that takes it up the arse from slimeball chancellors?

MPs launch tax inquiry after criticism of £130m Google-HMRC deal | Business | The Guardian http://www.theguardian.com/business/201 ... -hmrc-dealWith any luck it won't be a bloody whitewash. Though who would be hopeful it would even be acted upon if it wasn't?

They were reporting on the news that the EU wants to speak to Osbourne about this, as other countries have managed to recover a lot more.

Google tax deal under fire as it emerges figure included share options scheme | Technology | The Guardian http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2 ... ons-schemeSo George has been caught lying about a set of figures yet again. The real mystery though is why he ever thought it would be a good idea to be the public face of it.

Because he's an arrogant sod and in the main the press let him get away with it? This is a man who has failed to achieve every single public target he's ever set himself, yet somehow remains in the job after six years. The difference this time is that he seems to have missed that the only thing the public as a whole like less than poor people robbing from the state is rich people & massive corporations robbing from the state.

London weighting isn't exactly something new or unusual. And I say that as someone who doesn't get it.

London weighting yes, however the discrepancy is over 120% which seems a bit steep. Housing very well could be that much of a difference but other costs are unlikely to be that different between London and Dublin.

Dublin is really not as cheap as people think :S I was outraged at 6€ a pint! I'm guessing the developers are in London and then the admin staff in Ireland?
