If his evidence was rejected and he was still acquitted, where is the problem, or am I missing something? |

Agreed. Clearly someone is not telling the truth here, but I’m not defaulting to the “the BBC is wrong” position that the hysterics want me to until I know more. Everyone loved Rolf Harris. He was a legend too. |

Probably worth quoting the relevant portions of the report. A7 is Tony Blackburn’s reference in the report.
The report does carry a health warning about its content, BTW. http://downloads.bbci.co.uk/bbctrust/as ... gation.pdf The quotes above start at page 513, but there is more context a few pages before. In short: BBC has memorandum recording an interview which took place some 45 years ago. Tony Blackburn says that no such interview took place. Dame Janet Smith prefers written documentary evidence over the recollections of a year old man who has had over 40 years to forget what happened. Motives for the BBC to sack him? Possibly it’s a deflection tactic, but also it clearly feels the need to be seen to be taking this kind of thing very seriously. One head has rolled, others may well follow. I guess that we’ll see how the courts respond to all of this when Blackburn’s legal action kicks off. Right now, though, it’s all very contradictory, and we won’t really know the truth of it from what we currently have. We probably never will. I’ll remain neutrally minded about this for the time being. |

Really? I don't think many people know enough of the facts surrounding this to form an educated opinion. |

Being a "legend" or a "national treasure" immediately means people will unquestioningly jump to your defence at the slightest provocation. |

I am more likely to believe Tony than the BBC especially after all they have lied about and covered up over the years. |

And where is Tony's name mentioned? 'Blackburn' doesn't even appear in the report. |

Tony is suing the beeb and has started a personal defamation suit against Tony Hall. He wouldn't go to all that trouble if he was in the wrong. |

Because nobody in history has ever used litigation to try and cover something up? |

He must think he stands a chance of winning, given these kinds of law suits are famously expensive. Note that 'chance of winning' in defamation cases bears almost no relation to any kind of logic as any normal person would understand it. |
