Though frankly I wouldn't be surprised if it was yet another attempt to just 'read' people and their activities. They seem utterly intent on that now. I remember all those people who were laughed at because they didn't trust Kinnect, and then it turned out MS were taking it up the arse on a daily basis from the NSA. And that was years before 10 started deciding what you could or couldn't do with your own computer, including changing already dodgy privacy settings back without your knowledge.
