If the best you can say is "I've never been arrested for anything..."

Has no one mentioned any of our esteemed government yet?

Oh, wait:
Quote:
Mr [David] Cameron’s father, who died in 2010, is reported to have used Mossack Fonseca to shield his investment fund, Blairmore Holdings Inc, from UK taxes.

Papers say his fund was “managed and conducted so it does not become resident in the United Kingdom for UK taxation purposes”.

In other words exactly the same arrangement as the owners of every major UK newspaper so no, don't expect it to appear on the front pages any time soon.

George Osborne under pressure to publish tax returns | Politics | The Guardian
http://www.theguardian.com/news/2016/ap ... ax-returns

EDIT - I see that story's been updated... So are we to assume that this new law (?) will focus on the BS that is the difference between avoidance and evasion? Cos in those terms it's actually 'avoidance' that has prompted all this, and not the 'evasion' that Cameron now wants to stamp out. If so, all he's doing is spinning the public even way beyond what's happened since Monday.

What’s in David Cameron’s tax returns: a few strokes of luck but no shady shenanigans | Politics | The Guardian
http://www.theguardian.com/politics/201 ... n-analysis

No shady shenanigans?

Quote:
As the Downing Street accommodation is rent-free, this is a major boon to the Cameron household finances. Unsurprisingly, the prime minister was at pains to point out that since 2011-12, he has not taken the benefit of a little-known £20,000 extra tax “prime ministerial expenses deduction” that was available to him (having been introduced under the postwar Attlee government).

His way of going about this looks slightly odd, though. For three years he claimed the relief but cancelled it out by declaring the same amount as income that he didn’t actually have, which looks strictly incorrect. Few would have expected the story at the end of the week to be that David Cameron had overstated his income for tax purposes.

That's falsely filling out a tax return no matter how you look at it. Mind you, when mummy's dishing out £200k that just happens to have avoided inheritance tax, that's probably to be expected

Entering government should be the new taking in religious orders. All your property us sieges by the state, you renounce all claims to inherit have and live in a monastery for the rest of yoy'd life.

Unfortunately, the people who advise on such things know more about how the system works than those who created it or those who work within it.
