Match.com ad criticised for suggesting red hair and freckles ‘imperfections’ | Media | The Guardian

As an American company, I can't help thinking they wanted in on the British fear of redheads. Fear is about the only plausible reason for the nonsense around redheads for me.

I'm waiting about the one with a black or Asian person . Also they can [LIFTED] off about gingers.

Germans find red heads very sexy, probably because the stereotypical German has blonde or brown hair...

These days, hair of any description is a bonus. Except for that of my eyebrows and ears. Just sayin.

My sister, brother and mother are freckled red heads. Other than the stereotypical but blatantly true "fiery temper", what's the big deal? Seriously.

We've all used the G word to wind up red heads but I still don't get it, if I'm honest.

The only imperfection I'll admit to as a freckled redhead is an inability to cope with moderate sunlight without getting sunburn - it's incredibly easy to end up  like that.

I get sunburnt in April in the UK, so I'll concur on that one.
We'll take over the world, in winter.

Bah, people can be attractive (or not) with any colour hair from blonde to redhead to bright purple. The whole idea a particular colour is somehow generally an undesired characteristic is patently ludicrous. Some people fancy people with a certain look, which may include length or colour of hair more, but there's no way that's significant enough over a large population for this kind of tomfoolery.

I've met some women with red hair who were sexy as hell and its not at all the case that I have a preference for them.

It's one thing to be attracted or not ( personal opinion). You don't find some / all redheads attractive, not a problem.

A company reinforcing that it's somehow a defect is in a whole different league. Especially with the amount of abuse redheads have had to live with over the years.

Yes I agree with that one.

Who knew 'wrong shaped head' was a reason to swipe left?
