http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/election-us-2016-36200431 Well, I think we’ve learned a lot about how the Americans choose their president this time. I’m still not sure who (or what) these “delegates” are,but I guess they are like constituencies or something similar. Anyhow, looks like the Republicans are getting Trump. I wonder who his running mate will be. |

His hair obviously.
I sincerely hope you are wrong but there's no accounting for American stupidity. Shame, I really like this planet. |

Donald has stopped the Bush mob within the Republicans i do hope he is able to stop the Clinton mob within the Democrats. he would have killed two birds with one stone and the USA most sorely needs a business man as a leader at this time ... |

The statement is actually wrong, he's not the nominee, he's the prospective nominee. He still needs to get a certain number of votes at the Republican congress later this year to actually be the official nominee and even though he's won many regional endorsements - which is in fact what the primaries are - it's up to the attendees at the congress to actually cast the votes. It would be pretty much unprecedented (I think it's only happened twice) for the congress to vote against the prospective nominee but it remains a possibility - many party grandees don't like Trump at all still. It's actually a bit like how the UK Labour party used to operate in it's relationship with the unions - the members of unions would vote for who they wanted to be party leader and the union leaders would then cast block votes on their behalf. It was very rare for union leaders not to follow their members wishes, but it did occasionally happen. So fundamentally she should get the nomination but there are probably yet some political shenanigans for him to steer his way through. If he has smart people with him that should be OK, but he has to be a bit careful. The fact he's moderated his rhetoric somewhat recently suggests he's aware of this issue. |

Poor choice. He is going to get a record low percentage of black and latino votes, he will do very badly among women voters. Those demographics are going to be more important than ever before, and winning the White House without winning any of those is impossible. He might do worse than Goldwater did in 64. |

Well, he does have the party convention to get through yet. Whether the Republicans feel that he’s done enough to warrant their support, or whether they think that he’s too big a risk remains to be seen. It does seem that he’s been crowned the candidate by the media already, which may be a tad premature. |

All of his opponents have dropped out of the race and the chair of the RNC has declared him the presumptive nominee even though he would rather [LIFTED] a kidney. Only an assassin could prevent this being a Trump Clinton race now. |
