I'm shocked, shocked I tell you, to find that a Tory government would be driving down living standards for the poorest in society. It must be for their own good or something.

Indeed, create a distinct poorer class and the majority in the working/middle don't feel so hard done by.

To be honest, cuts will always affect the poorest more, regardless of who makes them. The rich can always pay for things themselves, the poor can't
