Warms my heart. You have to wonder about the timing though, don't you?

The world's banks are under scrutiny all over again, George has just left after previously stepping in for HSBC's collusion with drug dealers and terrorists... Meanwhile, you can always rely on the Serious Farce Office

Quote:
In March, the UK Serious Fraud Office said that after reviewing more than half a million documents, it had concluded there was insufficient evidence for a realistic prospect of conviction. At the time, the fraud-busting agency said it was continuing to liaise with the US Department of Justice over its investigation, which had involved help from a number of regulatory bodies, including the FCA and the Competition and Markets Authority, as well as the City of London police.

Not all bankers are corrupt, let's say that straight away - I'm sure the large majority are honest and think they're doing a good and worthwhile job. And most of them ARE doing a good and worthwhile job, a banking system is fundamental requirement for a modern society. However as the list of countries that HAVE managed to put corrupt bankers in jail grows, the feeble excuses our establishment gives for not doing so get more and more threadbare.
