http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-38359640 Oh yeah, the strikes are all about showing the middle finger to the public ![]() Yet another government statement desperate to cause division rather than admit the JAMs include a fcuksight more people than single-parent families etc. Does that witch genuinely believe people are striking in a time of redundancies and uncertainty for a bloody laugh? |

Normally I'd say that rhetoric is going to fail, as the strikes are too prevalent and the margins in favour of them too big. It gets to the point where most people know (or at least know of) someone who is going to strike and they know those people aren't just out to get the government. However, 2016 is conclusively proved that a portion of the population would believe a tabloid headline that told them the sky is green and the grass is blue. So there will definitely be people who will believe this is all 'reds under the bed'. |

we have had 'austerity' shoved down our throats since 2008 but the governing/employing bodies be they in the public or private sector seem to have bypassed this 'austerity' as its only for the masses that work for them. i think that most would have had enough of this 'austerity' and would like a share of the greedy bas-tards gravy train ... |

Actually I wonder if this is could a good thing One thing that has come up in recent days in the media has been that the strikes might make firm re-assess if they should invest in the South They had a small engineering firm on the local news last night talking about this. Imagine if they moved north Unemployment in the north is higher so the jobs would be welcome Anyone relocating who has a house would be quids in (expensive house down south to cheap housing up north)* Staff who cant afford a house down south would be able to buy one up north Pressure on infrastructure down south is reduced So….taking this to its (ill)logical conclusion the government should encourage more strikes and at the same time make relocation grants available *I had some friends who did this when their job was relocated from Tunbridge Wells to Sheffield – they moved from a 2 bed flat to a 3 bed house, paid off all of their mortgage and had enough left over for a new car – at the time he complained but later admitted it was the best move he ever made |
