Bandits clear out an Apple store in just 31 seconds
clicky

Quote:
Apple stores are known for their clean, modern, and user friendly layouts. What is also now known is that these stores can be picked clean by robbers in under 31 seconds. Is it just me or do the news guys sound like they're commentating on a winning goal in some sport or other?

He is completely over the top. They basically bust in a glass window then run through the shop grabbing everything they can that's easily portable. And they wear hoods. According to the reporter, that makes these chuckleheads some sort of SAS of shoplifting.

Assuming the store managed to remember to write down the unit serial numbers on their display stock and the fact it would be a bit tricky to sell a laptop when you don't have a power supply to go with it, I think they probably aren't going to make much money and stand a pretty good chance of ending up in jail. Although it does kind of surprise me they didn't have the stuff on Kensington locks.

Hmm, I wonder if the phones had a Mobile Me account.

"Where's my iPhone" could be a handy feature right now.
