Radio 2 balked up. 7pm, they were doing the solemn "someone has died" news bulletin, while Dire Straits' Money for Nothing was playing in the background. Someone didn't slide a fader down.

There was a list in a local paper of attacks he sanctioned including the murder of a man he personally told it was safe to return f om exile, and a man who was unwillingly turned into a suicide bomber, I kid you not.

Martin McGuinness was simply a calculating scumbag who was out of violent options.

The front pages of the press in Ireland was a lot different to what was published over here. Can't remember where I saw that though... <helpful as ever>
