my wife gets paid out for her PO pension scheme at the end of this month.
which means she can reduce her working hours to a 3 or 4 day week.
my private pension scheme pays out in june/july which means i can reduce to a 3 or 4 day week.
we are both 60 this year ...

I suspect someone who is 30 this year won't get anything like that as an option. Not that what you're getting is unreasonable - I think asking a 60 year old to do a 5 day week is bordering on silly - but we have to face the fact we've screwed things up badly for those who come after us.
