What is wrong with the world at the moment? We went through a phase of trying to integrate, now we have extremists running or trying to run countries all over the world. It seems we have taken a huge step backwards over the last 5 - 10 years. :(

The elite did their usual bang-up job and fiddled the economy. Everyone from the elite to the voter muppets who haven't learned in almost an entire lifespan looked for someone to pin the blame on lest they have to do a bit of soul searching. God forbid you'd realise that you were the reason for hospital services, schools, and even the trains going down the tubes (no pun intended). Christ, admit nothing! There's potentially a bunch of younger people who haven't figured that out either, and they want someone strident to get their vote. Historically they'd have been to the left, but that's not really an option right now for anyone.

Much easier to blame that person who's been here for a whole five minutes. The average voter has little but dumb instinct and sad notions like 'if you don't vote you can't complain' to go on because so long as it isn't happening to them or a right-wing rag said so, they don't know any better.
