That will only be for the big name bands on the main stage(s). If they paid the smaller bands a similar percentage of their usual fee they'd be essentially playing for free.  |

I'm sure the Eavis family would be happy for them to. They've done a nice PR job - benevolent farmer gives over land so kids can have a good time - but the stories I've heard from people directly involved with Glastonbury speak of a more... businesslike attitude.  |

The old “we can’t afford to pay you much, but it’ll be exposure and will look good on your portfolio” speil taken to entirely new levels. And, yes, I did read the bit about charity. That’s a line often used too.  |
