RSPCA seeks new powers to seize 'suffering' animals - BBC News http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-40542246 It's easy to forget it's a charity... Can't be fun going onto some scumbag's farm when they've likely got a shotgun, for instance. But they should only be gathering evidence, when it sounds like they are sometimes pushing the prosecution itself. I'm assuming it's down the police list of priorities too. |

Dear RSPCA. Go [LIFTED] yourselves. You're a charity, not a law enforcement agency Seriously, if law enforcement (eg police) need a warrant, why on earth should non law enforcement have the right to enter without permission and take without permission? |

Have to agree. The police are under all sorts of limits and requirements before they can enter a private property and have to follow specific procedures when they do. I don't see why, as has been said, a charity worker should have more powers than a policeman. if an animal is in such a state that they can't wait until an officer can attend then, bluntly, that animal's probably too far gone to be saved anyway. They do good work but they need to be realistic about who they are and what they're there for. |
