Doesn 't really matter how fast it ran, just had to be faster than it's prey. |

This. Considering the size of some it's potential meals I doubt the top speed was an issue. Likewise, it could have been an ambush hunter or even an opportunistic scavenger (or any mixture of methods that worked). |

You only have to go fast if your prey is fast. TRex’s real problems would be either the size/bulk of anything it tries to kill, or the armour plating. I like the idea of it being more a carrion eater than a hunter. Those almost residual front limbs aren’t that good for holding onto anything that’s struggling, and keeping balance on just two legs during a kill may also be a problem. |
