Anything that simplifies the quagmire that is the current benefits system can only be a good thing. The only thing we claim is child tax credit, but even that is a nightmare. I fell sorry for people who have to deal with the current bureaucracy for several different benefit claims.

The current system is a shambles.

My brother-in-law is severely disabled and lives in his own place with live in carers. His income support has been stopped for no discernible reason. So my wife has to fill in some more forms, sent them back to only to get more forms in the post to fill in and send back to get it re-started and backdated. He also got a court summons for non payment of council tax despite the fact he is not supposed to pay it. Thankfully one phone call sorted that out. The amount of hassle and paperwork that needs to be done because they decide to stop payments at random is ridiculous.

There is also staff attitude to contend with. Usually it's the arguments surrounding their insistence that their paperwork is correct when it is not. They seems to occupy a different reality.

This is some my wife's experience in dealing with the various agencies.

Simplifying the system will be a big help for everyone involved, claimants and those who have to process the information.
