I'll even accept that this is coming from Dell ;) if it means we're getting closer to the removal of most wires from tech :x

The machine will run Windows 7 but Dell hasn't released any details about the Intel processor the machine would feature.

That bit made me laugh - AMD not even getting a look in once again

Isn't it likely that the processor will be Intel, as AMD don't currently have a low powered offering, which I'm assuming is what would be in the machine to increase the efficiency of the wireless charging.

The article was crap anyway, just a rewritten press release with poor grammar.

I've no idea, and as you point out, the article doesn't actually reveal much, but that doesn't make AMD's predicament any less funny ;)

I know, but I always plump for the underdog, I've nearly always gone for AMD chips.

The Dell Latitude Z is set to cost $2000 (£1,260) in the US, with no word as yet from Dell UK

So it will be at least £2000.

I find this amusing. For years we've had paranoid worries about mobile phone signals and wi-fi, yet the EM radiation here must be much higher than that.

It uses a 1.2Ghz or 1.6Ghz Intel Core2Duo CULV processor. It also has an additional ARM or Geode processor for "instant on" email and web browsing, using a flashed Linux.

It is a nice looking machine. Dell certainly have some nice designs coming out at the moment, at least on the top end kit.

It makes sense. Buy something thats not as good as the same priced competitor product.

;)

I've never bought AMD unless it's been cheaper than Intel, which of course it always is.

Strangely for such s h i t processors I've never had any problems playing the latest games, editing video or writing music, it's all marketing at the end of the day, for most users there's little perceivable difference, except in price.

Funnily enough I've always bought AMD right up until the Q6600 came out when it became a no-brainer.

AMD 486DX2 66MHz
AMD K6-2 333MHz
AMD Duron (The K62 blew up at Uni when dissertation was due. Dad saved the day and bought me a cheap Duron.)
AMD Sempron 2800+
AMD Opteron 146 @ 2.9GHz
Intel Q6600 @ 3.2GHz

I think my E6300 was the first Intel chip PC I ever owned - didn't even really look into AMD as they didn't seem to have anything then that would have competed
