http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/8274328.stm As the article somewhat points out, working beyond 65 is gonna become the norm anyway... |

Ernie you are a long way from retiring but I do see this as a mistake. There are many people who do not want to retire and even more who cannot afford to retire. This needs to change as soon as possible. The mandatory retirement age should be banned. If someone wants to carry on then they should. The only exceptions will be if they have a potentially dangerous job, such as pilot. Though that should be assessed by medical not by age. Air Stewardesses are also forcibly retired when they reach 55. That is not acceptable. The government need to allow people to carry on working or else there will be far worse outcomes. If people cannot retire later if their pension is inadequate then they will save far more, and that will harm the economy. Overall people are simply not saving enough then more and more people will rely on means tested pensions and that will cause serious dislocation for politics as they are the ones who always vote. |

We can all see the way this will go: UK courts (epic fail) -> EU human rights court (epic win) |

Well they all want to climb the slippery pole of minister so will let the PM shag the family dog in order to get a chance. Far too many ministries for my liking. |
