I'll have to read this later, but the sheer fact Mandy's involved makes me suspicious already ;)

The more they deny the story and complain about the Marrs question to Satan. The more credence they give to the allagation. People will now start thinking he's on painkillers as they are busy denying it.

I'll iPlayer this later if I get the chance - if Gordon was talking about his eyesight anyway, the painkiller question isn't exactly a big leap...

If it is Oxycontin or Hilly Billy Heroin as it is more commonly known then that just boosts his street cred! :D

PS If Mandy is involved then I am also suspicious.

Err - I’m not sure if he is “performing” internationally. Certainly not as well as I had hoped. I still have images of him in a kitchen talking to Obama.

If he’s on painkillers, then I wish he’d admit it. He may lose the next election (I think that’s a foregone conclusion), but he may gain some respect for admitting a personal problem. It’s not like he hasn’t had troubles in the past, and has received the support from colleagues across the house. I am reminded of Charles Kennedy who admitted his alcoholism. He lost his job, but gained much more from coming clean.

The only problem with this is that if he isn’t on painkillers, and the story gains traction, then people will believe it regardless of the veracity of the claims.

But Kennedy was ousted by Menzies Campbell for his own political reasons. Charles Kennedy alcoholism did not seem to affect his performance. Though the outcome got him to deal with his drinking.
