It was his white socks which made me think he looked like an estate agent.

I just thought it was brilliant that somebody from the investigative show was blackmailing him

Yes but you have to be seriously stupid to think that you can get away with it. And to be honest a TV star screwing some of his staff is nothing new. How often does it happen in the ordinary workplace? Pretty often I would imagine. Overall I though Letterman was brave to confess on air. It could have been a simple press statement.

Who was stupid to think that they'd get away with it? Letterman? Letterman pretty much had to do it on air - he takes the hit and not the show and it's staff (it could still snowball even now), although they'd probably keep him on anyway I'd have thought

It's not that, it's a case of you should know better when you're in his position. So to speak... See how easy it is to make somebody look stupid over things that should never have happened?

Well what people should or shouldn't do and what they actually do are 2 different things. Men in general will not be thinking about their public image (or families) when offered sex on a plate.
To name a few of recent years.......
John Major Bill Clinton David Beckham Ashley Cole

That's often true, but equally I know quite a few blokes who wouldn't dream of doing that - I couldn't even if I wanted to, I'd be condemning myself to life torture by my conscience

I am with Oceanciti on this. It is nothing really to be bothered about. Office relationships happen all the time. You only have to look at the House of Commons to see what happens. Many MP's have married a member of their staff. Just because he was a celebrity does not make it any more objectionable.

I'm not saying it makes it more objectionable, just more stupid

It is clearly stupid, much more so if he was married at the time.
