Whats this Gordon to save the UK as well as the world and in only 50 days!!!!! methinks someone is getting increasingly desperate to try and save his skin before the oncoming humiliation of the General election. Once labour gets a kicking it will be a night of the long knives. |

Whether or not man is contributing, the climate will change irrespective of anything that we do. That's been the history of this planet. Rather than just trying to convince everyone that we can stop it completely why not actually come up with some ideas as how to deal with the changing environment, how we can adapt to it, rather than waiting for the day to come and just going "FAIL"... |

There is only one possible image with enough inherent win to save the Earth. ![]() |

The source of global warming is, of course, politicians. The amount of hot air they have been producing recently is enough to cause more than a mild heat wave. |

A friend who is the head of an environmental agency said that politicians really do want to save the world but they're afraid that the public really won't accept the changes that would be necessary to achieve it. Frankly I agree. |

I think that will be very true. It appears the majority have got into the idea that they live in a stable environment. Personally, I can't wait till the Gulf Stream shifts or disappears and I can get my skis out everyday. ![]() |

I would also agree. Energy prices would go through the roof if governments taxed them in such a way as to control emissions. The public would not accept it. The impact on government spending would be immense. It would throw millions into fuel poverty overnight. It would mean that benefits would have to rise, as well as taxes to pay for them. Not a good thing to impose on people when times are tough for many already. No UK government will actually deal with this problem effectively. ![]() |
