Right at this moment I'm sorta thinking, 'If you don't like the BNP etc, stop drawing attention to them!'... :?

IMHO attention should be on them. By ignoring a radical party and ensuring the media etc marginalise them, you ensure they will only grow stronger.

Tricky one, as I feel both statements are correct. As long as the BNP don’t start controlling the kind of media attention they are getting, then I think that we are on safe ground. This current development is one I agree with the military brass on very much. Those symbols are, if anything, British - that is to say that they belong to us all. I bet that Churchill would be horrified to know who was using his image, and the Spitfire pilot would be none too happy either, being that he is Polish. :-)

The bigger problem here is that symbols such as the Union Jack, the Cross of St george etc. have been so mis-appropriated by the far right, that when I see them, I don’t think of the football team, the country etc., I think first of the National Front marches that used to go through the town where I used to live.

I have to say that I'm young (and possibly indoctrinated due to where I grew up) enough to see it as the flag of the country and little else. I don't follow football though ;)

I grew up in an town that seemed to have a very high NF/Combat 18 population. Certainly, if you travelled out to South Oxhey (yes, the place that the BBC staged the Choir recently), you would find a high head count of Nazis (I don’t know if this is still true, but back in the 1970’s and 1980’s it was).

There is a web site:

Good luck to them.

Publicly we should ignore them but privately we should watch them like hawks.

Unfortunately, it's currently giving me this:

Great Success !
Apache is working on your cPanel® and WHM™ Server

Well, apparently the BNP is comparing the Generals to those who were hanged at the Nüremburg war trials. :? Griffin, on the BBC this evening, tried to convince Nick Robinson that it was a bit of “dark humour”.

Right now, Bladon has adopted an eccentric oscillation caused by Churchill’s spinning.

I saw something on the BBC News about this and they showed a clip of something about the BNP. It ended with the line 'There's nothing British about the BNP'. Completely agree.
