Well who knows the Chancellor could have a windfall tax that is identical to the bonuses. It would not be unfair as the profits were made entirely as a result of the extra funds made available to the banks by the government especially as they can borrow at 0% and lend bank to the government at a rate higher than that. |

No the bankers are as thick as two short planks. They are only thinking of themselves. They now know that if the banks screw up the government will bail them out. So its heads they win tails we lose. |

Well, in the past they only suspected the government/taxpayers would bail them out if they cocked up the economy. Now they actually know so it's snouts back fully into the trough even deeper than ever. Where are the gun toting vigilantes when you need them? |
