What really annoys me is who has rights to access such data. Why should the Ambulance Service need such data? Same goes for the Post Office. No problems about the Police having access, I do not do anything that warrants such intrusion.

That is a good point, I mean if the Police want to enter your house they need a warrant so I'm not entirely sure how an activity in your home can be monitored without the same prerequisite.

There seems to be a blurring of the message of Democracy. Democracy is founded on the freedom of the individual, not the security of the individual. Our lives should not be opened up to the highest bidder.

It seems to have been designed with feature creep in mind.

Some of these things come straight out of The Traveller and The Dark River books.

Thats OK as the Police and the Judiciall process have never made any mistakes.. such as hire A "forensice" investigator" with no acreditated qualification to examine evidence.. or accidently/on purpose made a mistake. Attached records to the wrong person, fitted up/created evidence to incriminate someone. Let alone all those other bodies that will have access to your records.

The mantra of "I have nothing to worry about as I have done nothing wrong" is the mantra IMHO of the naive and/or the gullible. You are only doing nothing wrong if its been defined elswhere as doing nothing wrong.

If the Police etc want access then they should have a court order giving them access and then only on tightly defined paramater.. no "fishing" jobs looking for "added" evidence.

Oh I agree with you, but then I am against all the other bodies having the right to my communications. The police should get a court warrant and not a Chief Constables decision on the matter. Since I do not have a criminal record of any kind despite being on the PNC. That was added because I kept getting lost and it made it easier for the police to drop me off where I was living. Even so that did not stop me from being interviewed over a series of burglaries in Haywards Heath on one occasion. Which ended when the policeman who brought me in told the detectives that I had amnesia and was reported missing.
