http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/8323638.stm Unfortunately the 'anger' is from Peter Hain, who seems to enjoy democracy as long as he's winning and nobody asks him too many questions... |

This was always the risk, and Diane Abbot said that the programme may well be seen differently outside of London (which Griffin does not class as a British city because it’s full of “darkies”, no doubt). The sample size for the survey was 1,314 - any statisticians like to explain how such a small number can be trusted to indicate a national picture of several million voters?
So, the debate rumbles on. Has the BBC cocked up here? |

I heard the News Quiz podcast last night. The whole audience erupted with laughter when a question was introduced by playing Bing Crosby singing "I'm dreaming of a white Christmas". Who says satire is dead? |

The panel on Have I Got News For You totally failed to recognise Griffin in a photograph, much to the audience’s delight. ![]() |

I don't agree with the way the whole thing was handled by it, but the BBC and the panelists have every right to be heard as things stand today, so I don't disagree with the act of showing it. I'd advise people not to be shocked by any rise in the BNP's popularity (see the murdering scumbags who've had their history rewritten and been 'democratically elected' in NI and the Irish Republic), and I'd also suggest it's got deeper roots than a silly bit of BBC hype and poor judgement. By which I mean the programme itself and not any potential effect.... |

Hmmm statistics. 9 out of 10 people enjoy gang rape. I can't help but wonder if this is nothing more than a message to the Big 3 to start thinking about their policies a little closer and actively engaging with the populace again. The immigration issue is clearly the hot topic for a lot of people, and in an economic climate like ours, people start looking for scapegoats. ![]() |

I'm with the Beeb on this one. The BNP - like it or lump it - are a legal political party with democratically elected representatives. For the Beeb to censor a political party because it doesn't like their message or their policies would be the start of a very slippery slope and would only act to increase the BNP's vigil and continue to allow them to play the "look how the establishment persecutes us" card. This way the BNP get exposed to ridicule on national television. It's brilliant. |

+1 Paxman interviewing Griffin would be interesting TV - though Griffin would play the “I’m being lynched” card again. |

I have said all along that the main parties are responsible for the rise of the BNP. They have created a climate where the BNP have had space to grow. Labour have completely ignored their core voters to chase after the middle class. If there ever were a BNP government it would be the middle class who would suffer most. No more au pairs or Polish builders or plumbers. And a lot worse would come. |

What is good is that people are talking about the BNP. It has always been a bit of a taboo subject - but getting the subject out into the open can , I feel, only be good in the long run. Yes - they will be a rise in support, but as people dig deeper into the BNP, they will find unpleasantness lurking, I would expect the see that new support start to dwindle. The way to tackle the BNP now is not to subject them to any more bear-it like events (though, I find it hard to imagine that another BNP stint on QT will be any less pointed - the audience would lead the programme down that path). The BNP has to be tackled through regular business. Their policies need to challenged, and compared to those of the other parties. This means that the LabCon Oligarchy, and the LibDems HAVE to form robust arguments and policies that answer the concerns of those BNP waverers. Going after Griffin may seem a popular thing to do, but as a long term strategy, it’s doomed to failure. |

Yeah - though Griffin would probably walk out, knowing that the BBC is a leftist organisation. |
