The extra days for Northern Ireland that the article makes mention of is, probably, what's referred to as Marching Season.
Because of that there's one of the days we should get that is taken away from us (it depends where you work because it's at your employer's discretion).

Today, I flooded the laser lab, drenched some extremely expensive electronics, and will be unable to get anything done for over a week...

It's not likely to change :( , but then I have a job where a lot of people don't at the minute, I'd hate to have a real job etc... It's just that telling yourself all that isn't effective when you're sat there :cry:
