For God's sake, if this is the way things are going the BBC's gonna struggle to show any sort of comedy... Laughter is just slaughter without the 'S' to paraphrase somebody who put it better ;)

Humour is all very well and good, but this guy had a jibe at someone elses expense.
In this case I'm totally behind the person being poked fun at.

I always found Mr Boyle's "humour" vicious anyway. It would eventually come back to bite him.

Boyle said Miss Adlington resembled "someone looking at themselves in the back of a spoon".

It does seem to me that she is being a bit over sensitive

Ok, now she's pissing me off. A slapped wrist was seriously all that the comment wanted at most, whislt it wasn't a particularly nice comment, it really wasn't that that insulting, and besides, her face does resemble someone looking at themselves in the back of a spoon.

When you consider that his comments about masturbating to a video of the hanging of Sadam Hussein brought no rebuke at all, it seems like a very topsy turvey standpoint.

The guy (Frankie Boyle) is a f*cking c*ck and needs taking off the TV completely IMHO.

His "humour" consists purely of insulting people.

That is not humour. Any 5 year old can do that, and probably make a better job of it than him.

Where does it end, HIGNFY censored for Prescott jokes? New Tricks cancelled over jokes about older men?

Things like that are precisely why they get the viewing figures they do

You'd never be able to have workable guidelines for this sort of thing, and they shouldn't even try in the first place.

Me too, to the extent that he's been somewhat carrying MTW IMO, and I wonder if it'll lose viewers if his replacement isn't up to scratch where the viewers are concerned...

I'm sorry but if you're in the public eye then you are going to be scrutinised, even made fun of. Who here would have banned Spitting Image? Or wants to see HIGNFY cancelled?

I avoid MTW because I know he's on it.

I'll start watching again now that he's gone.

Heaven forbid she actually has to deal with any major catastrophe, her brain would implode.

Or see Frankie Boyle do a live set, her head would probably implode

If he took the mick out of my bald head and bushy eyebrows, I'd cry. Not.

That was my thought. It's not slander if it's true.
