The oil leak began on August 21, with up to 400 barrels of oil a day spewing into the sea 150 miles from the northwest Australian coast.

What can I say, I wanted some fireworks on my birthday. ;)

On a side note, I've never seen a well control incident last ten days myself. The longest I've seen is three or four days. The quickest, four hours.
I'd like to know why it took so long to control. Even with the risk of an underground blowout, I'd have expected them to have cemented it up as a last resort by that time.
