Hmm - makes me wonder if a black box like that is worth having now.

I can remember my apprentice days, backing out of garage in a Rover 3500 SDI (showing my age there) pushing it straight into drive and flooring the throttle..... Customer was walking up the road to collect and witnessed the whole thing.... black smoke from the tyres the lot....

I was not popular to say the lest that day and got shouted at by the customer, my boss and a nice written warning, I was really pissed with myself as it was a family run garage and I got on really well with the family up to that point. Took me months to get my self back in to some sort of favor with them.

I had a friend who ran a garage for exotics. He took a customers Ferrari 308 to Castle Coombe for a track day and blew the motor! He had to rebuild the motor  Another time he "borrowed" a Lotus Carlton and got 174mph out of it down the M4!

Another time I went to Goodwood and a mechanic had "borrowed" an Audi Quattro Sport from the garage, which a customer had left over the weekend for servicing and piled it into a bank. Heard him on the phone afterwards "yes, I need a new grill, a new bonnet, nearside front wing, door, no, no, it's not my car" :(

I saw some clot reverse my rather nice Morris Minor out of their MOT bay and somehow snag the car door between the wall and the wooden frame garage door frame. Made a mess of the paint job. The bastards tried to wriggle out of it too. They repainted the door though. I never went back to them.
