http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/8352711.stmI'm assuming it's a personal thing for women - I doubt many men care

I once heard about a 14 year old gir. who had a labioplasty on the NHS because her flaps were too long and causing her (psychological) distress. Sounds wrong imo.

If it's affecting the mental state of the patient then I can't see why you wouldn't treat, but it certainly shouldn't be provided 'on a whim'.

*sigh*
Sometimes I do despair. How on earth could anyone be under the impression that a) there is such a thing as the "perfect vagina" and 2) that they don't have one?
I can't say I've really looked at mine since I was about 11, it only ever sees a select group of people, most of whom don't care what it looks like! It's not like a facial feature that everyone can see, it's under cover the majority of your life and I haven't seen any reports of women being judged based on the attractiveness or otherwise of their lady-bum.
One more thing to be vain and insecure about, just what the human race needs!

As long as it's not throwing a sausage down a hallway it's all good Surely it SHOULD be provided on a quim though?

Surely that's as much up to the guy as the gal?! Also, who says "love making" is all about p-i-v anyway? It's perfectly possible to have a fantastic and fullfilling sexual relationship, even when the "key doesn't fit the lock", if you get my meaning!! In addition to that, these operations seem to be about improving the outward appearance, rather than the internal workings (I can't even figure out how that would work anyway) so that's all rubbish.

It sounds a lot like the other things women are pressured into - sunbeds, blonde hair, big breasts, size 0...
My girlfriend is short, plump, dark haired and I wouldn't swap her for anything in the world!
I think these women need to stop reading "women's" magazines and change their boyfriends, rather than look for a surgeon!

Yes, but by making them realise how silly it is to care about what you look like. I know I'm speaking with a huge quantity of hypocrisy here, given my self-consciousness regarding my skin, but this just seems so wrong. I think the article mentioned potential nerver damage and de-sensitivity, which presumably is not so good (8-p)

Am I the only one thinking that the perfect vagina is the one that I have permanent access to?
That's a big reason for my wanting to get married anyhow

Not really, stereotypically the 'easier' women tend not to have much tread on the tyre, so to speak The key does fit the lock, you just need to twist it the right way and bang hard if the 'lock' is well used

You'd be surprised how many women need surgery down there after giving birth. Babies can do a LOT of damage.
