My bet is on Vodafone, purely because I got a call just before my contract expired, even though I'd already arranged to go SIM only.

At the gym, one of the TVs was showing Sky News. They say it was T-Mobile

I'm a T Mobile user; tbh as long as they don't have my bank details, I couldn't care less about cold calls. I just tell them (mostly politely) to [LIFTED] off as I'm not interested ;)

One of their call centres here in Germany got caught up in this a couple of years ago, evidently it was "rogue" employees selling lists...

BBC last night claiming that this was the tip of the iceberg and suggested that health records could be sold on. Hopefully this will make people question the security of massive databases.

It always is. However, it also appears there always are rogue employees. As long as people have access to the data, some of those people will be unscrupulous. The only viable solution is not to have the massive database in the first place, or compartmentalise it to the point where no one person has access to enough 'saleable' data to make it worth stealing it.

That's what I was thinking, and surely it shouldn't be too hard to find out which company bought the data? Even the smaller phone sellers have to connect to one of the big networks...
