It just confirms what's been known for some time - that, taken in isolation, alcohol is beneficial for the heart. It's the other effects that alcohol has on the body that cause the problems. The study didn't look at the number of people who had a healthy heart but died of liver failure. Results would have been somewhat different if they did. |

Clearly whatever you do in life will affect you somehow. For example, following all government advice to the letter on all health issues related to food, drink, safe working practices and pastimes leads to a severely increased risk of suicidal behaviour and depression. I await news articles about what health problems are produced by the act of breathing... ![]() At least this will cheer up the heavy drinkers ![]() |
