The government should not be able to obstruct the Courts in this way.

It's a fcuking joke isn't it? Especially considering a lot of it is now in the public domain via the net or whatever anyway - I suspect those with a guilty conscience have drawn more attention to themselves and what this'll bring out. Though that seems to be the fashion with court cases these days

Ah, but I guess if Judges complain too much the Government will say that they're expressing an opinion on Policy and will have to sack them... |

The government can't sack a judge, thankfully. They might be able to stop them getting into the house of lords once it's reformed or stop them getting some other political/ceremonial post but once they're on the bench almost nobody can boot them off it. |

The government is often held in check by the judges and Lords it has to be said
