It's low in the pecking order because it takes place in a far away land over the clouds and has nothing to do with x factor or I'm a c.

I know, but you'd think journalists would want to big themselves up in these days of declining paper circulation...

I guess it's because the journalists don't dictate the running order, it's the editors/owners of the news outlets, I don't mean that in a cynical way (although it is inherently).

The one ex-journalist and sub editor I know came up against that very problem, witnessing the rise of celebrity columns, columnists etc - funnily enough, sales dropped :roll:
