I wouldn't be surprised to learn in the near future that Murdoch's going senile, at this rate...

I am failing to understand Murdoch recently. His business relies on search engines driving traffic to his sites. If he wants people to pay once they are these, then that’s up to him to sort out.

Murdock is getting more and more like the baddie in The World Is Not Enough (Bond film).

What, dull? ;)

No, seriously, I always thought that guy was a mixture of Murdoch (primarily) and Gates :)

Blatantly.

The way James Bond films are written since Barbara Broccoli took over makes the Family Guy manatee method look sophisticated, just awful, what a way to destroy an icon.

Google: we're not to blame for newspapers' plight

Nope, there's 24/7 rolling news, rubbish or just plain made up newspaper content, new online and AV distractions, the list goes on...

It's a tricky choice. On the one hand Murdoch who purportedly changes regimes, and on the other the sanctimonious hypocritical priggery of "Do no Evil" Google. In an ideal world both would be scythed down to (a very small) size.

Murdoch is a born again Christian who is happy to change wives like some people change underwear, and make fortune out of exploiting naieve young girls. His (exclusively far-right) papers and TV station rail against such behaviour in others. Now go figure....

The Googopoly are much less colourful, but much more dangerous. 90% of people rely on their Search Engine for information, and much of the information returned is manipulated to suit the requirements of advertisers. If that ain't evil, I don't know what is.... At present we don't have any real handle on their political\world domination aspirations, outside bland generalistaions. You can be sure they have some though.
