FFS, is there nothing more notable they could have come up with for all the hassle?

I take it this has more to do with drawing attention to the local council? :?

Yes yes yes!
They can rename Woodland road near the university. That way I won't get their post any more because the stupid sorting office don't recognise the letter S.

EDIT

Obviously this is a rant and I know that these are new streets..... silly idea.

In Lara Croft road

Isn't there already a Mega Drive somewhere in England?

I'm sure I heard it on the news years ago.

Does America have a Genesis somewhere or other? ;)

And the best thing about the whole affair is that the winning road names will be voted for by the internet, so unless it's up against Goatse Close, Lara Croft Way is almost definitely going to happen.

Current results:

Eagle Way (74)............... 0%
Griffon Way (61)............. 0%
John Flamsteed Way (65)... 0%
Lara Croft Way (16491)..... 97%
Mercian Way (39)............. 0%
Merlin Way (202)............. 1%
Sorocold Way (27)............ 0%
Steve Bloomer Way (77)..... 0%

That's as predictable as it is funny. It would be extra funny if LC Way ended up with more votes than there were people in Derby. :D

Well, to be fair, it is the biggest thing that Derby has ever done. The more they can link themselves to it the better.

Mercian Way (39)............. 0%

I misread that as Murkin Way. Now there would be a Street name. :D
