And here you have it. No stranger is going to help the poor bloke off, and EasyJet don't want to be liable when the plane sinks with him inside.

Technically it wouldn't be his friends job either.
Disable passengers are usually satt on the front row. Cabin crew/pilots could easily drag him out of the front door in a few seconds.
If they can't than what chance does a friend have?

There you have it folks - EasyJet don't consider themselves responsible for your safety when you fly with them. Remember that when you're shaving a fiver off the price by flying with them rather than someone else.

I can see their point.

If you are able bodied and get on a plane then when the plane crashes you walk yourself to the chute and jump out. If you break a leg because you didn't read the multiple safety sheets etc... then that's your own fault. The company wouldn't be liable.

If you are disabled and you have a carer/family member present then when the plane crashes they wheel you to the chute and push you down (or whatever). If you break a leg or whatever then the person doing the wheeling is liable.

If you have no one to look after you and someone from EasyJet has to help get you down the chute and you break a leg then EasyJet is liable and you could sue them for thousands.

Although I would have thought there could have been some kind of disclaimer for the guy to sign rather than thrwoing him off the plane.

It would probably be the same with any airline.
