I think my "point of impatience" arrives a lot quicker than 1 minute.

<10 seconds is a realistic target at client for a well designed page and <0.01 second at server for HTTP request to be completed.

TBH if it's taking 30 seconds or more I'll probably just close it and try again later.

+1 Actually, in all honesty, it's probably more like 10 seconds when I think about it.

I expect a web page to load in a hell of a lot less than one minute! I'm with the 18 to 24 year olds on this one.

How fitting: The last couple of years has seen a decrease in browsing speed for me. On my current connection ~12 seconds for something like these forums or even Google isn't unusual, with loading time up to around a minute to for sites with heavy flash content (damned adds!), web 2.0 apps such as Facebook fail miserably under slow connections too. I don't find it acceptable, but this year at least, there is nothing can do... EDIT: And again, same story...

I look at around 10 seconds for the page to be usable/readable. Fully loaded is a different matter, it if fills ahead of where I am reading, that is fine.

Unless it's picture heavy, I expect a page to load in under ten seconds. If not, close the tab and retry.

I actually have plenty of patience (especially with people who don't actually deserve it), it's just certain things really grind my gears when there's no call for them to be so rubbish
