What's to stop you from getting the nightly builds if you're that keen? They are still available to download, aren't they? (I'm not sure) Anyway, given the choice I'd be quite happy waiting, as long as the finished product was worth the wait. |

I just hope FF4 gets rid of the annoyances they built into FF3 (compared to FF2). |

Which annoyances? (A genuine question not a flame as I am unaware of any). |

Excellent, finally we should get good performance out of the Sun Coolthread boxes! |

A) I open the browser, click on a bookmark on the left, then right click on another bookmark to open it in a new tab. In FF2, this could be done straight away, in FF3 the option to open the link in a new tab is greyed out until the first page has nearly fully loaded. I can click faster than the pages load. B) For some reason (known only to Mozilla) FF3 takes some of it's security setting from IE. I occasionally have to go into IE and change the locked down security setting to download exe files etc. This was never an issue with FF2. I always set IE to max security as I don't ever use it. |

I also find point A very annoying. I've never notice point B, but some security software does over-rule settings. What AV are you using? That may be at fault here, although it's just a guess. |

I haven't noticed a) on any machine - I just use the middle button to open bookmarks. But given that I load Firefox first thing in the morning and never close it, I haven't noticed any problems with greyed out bookmark options - the only exception being when it opens a PDF. I have X404 as my home page and usually middle-click on about 10-20 links on the page, one after the other, opening new tabs without a pause. I also tend to open 2 or 3 bookmarks at coffee time, using the bookmark menu and middle click and I can open them all, before the first one has loaded... Does this only affect bookmarks at startup? I haven't seen any problems with b) either. I only use IE in Windows XP to get Windows Updates. Other than that, I haven't loaded it up in years for actual surfing and I've never had to load it up and change security setting because of problems in Firefox. Can you please give more information, I am really interested in this, as we have rolled out Firefox company wide, so it could be a problem in the future. |
