I'm pleased that Kobayashi has got a chance next year, I though he looked promising and exciting when he raced for Toyota towards the end of last season Kobayashi signs 2010 Sauber deal |

That was the first thing I thought, when I saw the name. The "signs 2010 Clean deal" threw me for a couple of seconds... I was thinking, how can a test sign anything

If by promising you mean inexperienced, and by exciting you mean nervous, then yes, I agree with you. Saying that he seems to have started off the same way as JB, but without the fanfare, and just look how that turned out, even though it took several years.
