The movie will be sponsored by director Sam Raimi, whose credits include the Spiderman and Evil Dead films.

Fede Alvarez's short film "Ataque de Panico!" (Panic Attack!) featured giant robots invading and destroying Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay.


Its only 4 minutes long buts its so much better than most of the tosh that comes out of hollywood.

There will have been some serious behind the scenes networking and deal striking to get $30 million, mind you that's not to say youtube doesn't play it's part, but at the end of the day it's just another part of the marketing machine.

Reminded me very much of Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, although that was animated to look like a 1940s serial...
