Quote:
Plaid leader Ieuan Wyn Jones said his party was also taking legal advice, arguing that it deserved to be part of a UK-wide debate because there could be a hung Parliament in which the nationalist parties would have role in deciding the next government.

He rejected the broadcasters' argument that the debate should be restricted to party leaders who could be the next prime minister.

He told BBC Radio 4's The World at One: "I don't think anybody, including Nick Clegg, thinks that the Lib Dems are likely to form the next government."

It is a complete shambles when you take the whole issue into account...

Perhaps they could start by providing their party's answer to the West Lothian question.

They could always do further separate debates that use the 3 top parties in each country.

the 3 main parties holding a live debate remind me of the '3 stooge's' …

I look forward to seeing Mebyon Kernow's contribution to the Cornwall debate then :)

Say it again.

Mebyon Kernow aren't even in the top three parties in Cornwall, going by both number of councillors and constituency votes from the last GE.

Not sure why the SNP and the welsh lot are getting their knickers in such a twist

Neither are national parties – I can’t vote SNP down where I live

These are national parties debating the issues.
Now if there were plans to have this in Scotland without the SNP then they would have a case but I understand that there would be a special version of the debate with the SNP in it
