The Foreign Office has said there was "no evidence that the British hostages, including Peter Moore, were held in Iran".

"We are not in a position to say with any certainty where they were held during each and every single day," a statement added.

Now, I'm wary of all the people who seem so willing to talk about this to The Guardian, but what's that FO statement about? It's certainly not the standard issue one about 'enquiries are ongoing and we're liaising with the relevant embassies' etc... They'll be going well to cover anything up now though :)
