http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2010/ja ... dvertising I could have sworn there was an old thread for this, but I'd like to restate my opposition to it anyway, for the sort of reasons that have seen Macbooks pop up nearly every time someone uses a laptop in a TV show or film if nothing else - it's just distracting ![]() |

There's enough adverts on TV as it is! |

There’s the rub - will you be able to determine advertising from just general on screen reality? I would expect that companies who place products on our screens to be mentioned in a neutral fashion in the credits so people can determine how to view content. The more I hear about the marching forward of such advertising on TV, the more protective I feel of the BBC. |

+1. Personally, the first time I ever noticed this sort of advertising was T2, when John Connor used an Atari laptop to crack a pin code... it was just wrong for all kinds of reasons ![]() |

Eh? I thought it was one of these, especially cos of the screen: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atari_Portfolio It mentions T2 in the pop culture references section. |
