In a statement released to its investors last month, the Resident Evil publisher unveiled its 'management concerns' for 2010 - and said it was worried that unfair reportage in national newspapers could affect its sales.

The statement read: 'Some of our popular software titles have provocative graphics and text, such as violent and grotesque scenes. Accordingly, in the event of violent incidents and other criminal cases involving juveniles, we may be subject to a smear campaign by some sections of the mass media which often point out the correlation between crime and games.

...

Other bugbears revealed in the document included the rise of development costs and pre-owned game sales.

Are they about to unleash something truly kick-ass or are they just BSing their investors? :?

And the company that's been repackaging Streetfighter and Resi for well over a decade maybe has a bit of a cheek talking about development costs and pre-owned game sales ;)

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

The sales aren't that bad for their published stuff, unless they sunk far too much money into the Wii games or something
