The 2009 Oscars were in Feb and Moon was released in June. So why doesn't Moon get considered for the 2010 Oscars?  If the Oscars represent films released in that year when why hold the ceremony in the first quarter? Not that I care really as I never use industry related awards to help me choose a product. |

It's probably got more to do with Moon being relatively low budget and independently financed (sony just distributed) and Sony having several fully funded mega budget (American) films they'd rather back. |

What’s stopping the producers of Moon from going into HMV, buying some DVDs (possibly on offer at 2 for £15 or whatever) and sending those out?

It's too late, the screener would've needed to be sent out last year, before the film was released on DVD. |
