Asked whether he was concerned about the length of time it took (over six hours) for some cabinet ministers to publicly oppose the ballot Gordon Brown said all had issued statements backing him "within an hour or two".

The media was slow to report it then :?

And some people here thought they were glad to see snow ;)

Judging by Newsnight on the day, the messages of support were released close to each major news bulletin. Judging by some of the timing, I would hazard that one of the Milibands is looking at Brown’s position and thinking “hmm”. :o

Gordon Brown has described last week's call by two former cabinet colleagues for him to face a secret leadership ballot as a "form of silliness".

In an interview with The News Of The World, he also says he will serve a full term if Labour is re-elected.

Whoo!

Quote:
"I can't answer for the feelings of one or two people. But politics is full of... you know, large numbers of people are involved and they make their own decisions," he said.

He was dying to say something else there and stopped himself

He added: "I am the prime minister and am determined to remain so. I am determined, I am resolute."

Don't we know it

"I am resolutely resolute about being determinedly determined, because when I repeat myself repetitiously in a repetitive manner, that repetitive repetition reinforces, in a determined and resolute way, the repeated words or phrases and I repetitively repeating."

Anyone else noticed that quirk, among many?
