Now, I suspect there may be more to this story since it's Sky News, but still:

Quote:
Hertfordshire Police officers warned Klass she should not have used a knife to scare off the teens because carrying an "offensive weapon" - even in her own home - was illegal.

You fcuking watch me grab something sharp or heavy if I think the situation calls for it

Remember the way the law is applied, you have to be dead before your allowed to use non harsh words (in case you hurt there feelings) to defend yourself.

Surely the obvious defense is she wasn't carrying it, because she was stood still when she was holding it...

The obvious defence is a big two-fingers to the law. If someone intrudes into my home and there's a knife within reach I'm bloody well going to reach for it and use it if necessary.

I love how Murdoch based reporting words their stories:

Quote:
In December, Munir Hussain was jailed for attacking a man who tied up his family in their home. He and his brother used a cricket bat to beat one of the intruders.

Omitting the fact that they splintered his skull, giving serious brain damage, and broke the bat in half on his head. The guy was trying to run away when they did it, suggesting that....in this case...the force used might have been a little disproportionate.

Guy runs at me with intent, I'll stop him by any means. Guy runs away from you, it's no excuse to try and kill him. In Myleene's case, no problem IMHO; she was protecting herself against people who, in her opinion, could have been coming to harm her.

As an Officer pointed out, from a different constabulary, she did not break any laws as she was on her own property rather than being on public land.

Hertfordshire Police do not appear to know the Law or that they actually mentioned that if she had used the knife on them then she may have faced prosecution, depending on the circumstances.

As it was a knife intended to be used for domestic purposes (as opposed to a survival knife or even a craft knife) she could have argued she just has a small spasm whilst preparing veg. I'm totally serious, and that would be hard to prove otherwise.

You come in my house uninvited, you're going to hospital.

As far as I'm concerned you gave up your human rights when you decided to enter my house.

Simples.

You know what, I generally I respect the law, but in this case had the cops told me I was committing an offence I would have told them to get [LIFTED]

You come in my house uninvited, you're going to hospital... in a body bag.

A stick or a bat is better self defence weapon, less chance of a lethal strike (unless you know what you're doing), especially if it's turned against you (unless they know what they're doing).

It's a sad fact that they're not the only ones these days.
